**Job Description**:
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join Version 1 on a permanent basis. At Version 1 our Mission is to prove IT can make a real difference. We do this every day and due to continued expansion, we’re searching for like-minded individuals to help us ‘take it to the next level’.

We expect you to play a significant role in the team, being actively involved in every step of the software development process. You will be working closely with the development team, product owner, actuarial and testing teams to understand the requirements and help build database solutions. Any input into improving the software architecture and the use of design patterns will be appreciated. The role is focused primarily Microsoft SQL Server and can give exposure to Angular full stack development; however, you will be exposed to all aspects of the software development lifecycle and we expect you to be familiar with them.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Experience in migrating SQL Database workloads.
- Minimum of 5 years as an SQL Server DBA
- Solid understanding SQL Server internals and best practices
- A good understanding of other SQL and database related technology e.g. Middleware, Analysis Service, and Integration Services etc.
- Expertise in SQL Database design, deployment and administration
- In-depth understanding of SQL Server platforms
- Experience in Application and Database workload assessment and assessment tooling
- SQL, ideally Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (T-SQL, stored procedures)

- Entity Framework
- DevOps (Octopus Deploy, Azure Pipelines)
- Testing - Unit, Integration, End To End, Performance
- Karma, Jest, nUnit / xUnit, TDD / BDD, etc.
- Security
- Agile Development
