Teacher Trainer

**Teacher Trainer (Teacher Training & Development), Avanti Fellows**

**Position Summary**:
We’re expanding our Test Prep program and working with partners in various Govt. Systems to support the test prep. education for the government school students. This demands a large team of teachers to run classes daily across various implementation models namely - in-person Centre of
Excellence/Nodal, Broadcast in-school, Broadcast at-home, Recording etc.

**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Design and co-work with the product manager of ‘Teacher Training & Development, Product department who can manage the teacher training program for ~250 Avanti teachers across the country.
- Conduct need analysis - classroom observations and other activities - to understand and design the perfect classroom and lesson plan needed for each of the implementation models
- Co-design the ‘Teacher training workshops’ and year-long plans for imparting training needed for the above.
- Co-host training sessions and conduct feedback discussions with teachers to implement above plan
- Define metrics and conduct regular internal and external reviews to track progress on teacher & classroom quality, student feedback and other relevant areas.
- Co-run the teacher quality dashboard.
- Prepare reports that can be shared across teams to share progress on above.
- Ensure documentation in the form of SOPs, slides, process documents and other relevant
- formats.
- Design and maintain student and teacher facing portals for disseminating materials

**Requirements**:

- **Education**:Bachelor's or Masters degree in Sciences, preferably B.Tech/M.tech from a reputed university.
- **Experience**: At least 3 years of experience in the education industry in relevant roles like master teacher, master trainer etc. for JEE/NEET & Boards foundation.
- Experience in teaching and pedagogy design.
- Experience in working with ed-tech products is preferred.
- Open to travel across India (JNV schools etc.) for field observations: Tier 1, 2 & 3.

**Salary Details**:Commensurate with experience
**Location**: Anywhere in India (work from home).
- Should be available during official working hours 10AM - 6PM (5 days a week), timings may change as per the class schedule (for example: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
- Should be available for travel to work locations across the country as per need (including remote locations: tier 1, tier 2 & tier 3)

**Avanti’s JNV Program**:This program supports students at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools
(JNVs) to prepare for high-stakes college entrance exams. The JNVs are a network of 635 rural
“magnet-schools” where >400,000 of India’s most gifted rural, low-income students are provided free residential education. Students going through the Avanti JNV program are twice as likely to be able to secure a position in professional colleges. 60% of students in Avanti supported schools clear the national engineering exam, compared to a national average of 34%.
**Avanti’s Sankalp Program**:Over the past 2 years, Avanti has been running a large system change project in Haryana. The project covers 219 intervention schools, where teachers are being provided with technology and content to teach Mathematics and Science in Grade 9-12. In addition, Avanti monitors progress through a team of program managers and through the assistance of government officials. This project is being evaluated by JPAL and is currently funded by the Michael and Susan Dell
Foundation and USAID.
