Shadow Teacher

**Job Title**: Shadow Teacher (Special Educational Needs Assistant)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Provide Individual Support**: Assist the student with specific learning, emotional, and behavioral needs to help them integrate into the class. Offer one-on-one support during lessons, helping them understand tasks and complete assignments.
- **Assist with Learning Activities**: Support the teacher in preparing and organizing educational materials. Help the student engage with learning activities, such as reading, writing, math, and group work, ensuring that the student's needs are met.
- **Behavioral Support**: Manage the student’s behavior, offering positive reinforcement strategies and maintaining a calm and supportive environment. Intervene when necessary, following the behavior management plan.
- **Promote Social Integration**: Encourage the student to interact with peers, supporting social and communication skills development, and fostering positive relationships with classmates.
- **Monitor Progress**: Keep track of the student's progress and share observations with the teacher, parents, and other staff members. Help adjust teaching strategies to suit the student's evolving needs.
- **Personal Care Assistance**: In some cases, provide physical support with activities like feeding, toileting, and mobility, based on the student’s requirements.
- **Adapt Lesson Plans**: Work with the teacher to adapt lesson plans or materials to suit the student's learning style and pace. This may include simplifying tasks or providing additional time.
- **Provide Emotional Support**: Offer emotional encouragement, help manage anxiety or stress, and provide a safe, caring environment for the student.
- **Liaise with Parents and Other Professionals**: Maintain open communication with parents and specialists (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s education and development.
- **Record Keeping**: Document the student’s progress, including any challenges or achievements, and contribute to regular reports.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A caring, empathetic approach to supporting students’ emotional and academic needs.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., a Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN (Special Educational Needs) training, or a relevant degree) are often preferred but not always required.

This role requires someone who is highly adaptable, attentive to the individual needs of the student, and able to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
