As an **Business Associate
- Mergers & Acquisition** you would be a part of the Business Development & M&A team involved in all growth activities in India with a focus on M&A & Greenfield project development across solar, wind & hydro & also in new emerging areas including storage & green hydrogen etc.
**Your main responsibilities**:
- Assisting the India BD team in research, analysis and evaluation of a variety of investment opportunities in the Indian renewable energy sector (M&A / Greenfield).
- Assisting in analyzing past and projected financial performance, quality of management teams, investment merits and risks, expected returns, regulatory environment, industry dynamics and other relevant factors, including macroeconomic factors.
- Building, reviewing and updating detailed financial models, considering industry and project-based assumptions.
- Performing cash flow, profitability & valuation analysis including DCF.
- Assisting in engaging advisors and carrying out third party due diligence (commercial, market, legal, accounting, land, regulatory, environmental, etc.)
- Reviewing the diligence reports to ensure the key diligence findings are addressed appropriately.
- Working with the company management to understand past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and industry issues, and other relevant topics as required.
- Assisting in drafting investment recommendations, memorandums as well as presenting investment recommendations to the Statkraft investment committees.
- Participating in discussions with the management teams, coordinating with the internal groups and management to monitor all on-going business development activities.
- Improving and streamlining renewable energy business models and Statkraft’s offerings including commercial, market, financing, governance and regulatory aspects.
- Understanding the industry, peers, competitors, and suppliers and negotiate the requirements.
- Tracking market and regulatory developments impacting present and potential business development opportunities, monitoring industry in terms of market development, new projects & business models, new technologies (including storage), competitive activity, new customers, technological changes and new offerings etc.
- Executing and continuously updating Company’s business plan in line with the Organization’s strategy for renewable energy.
- Ensuring compliance to internal policies and business framework across business development cycle.
- Other relevant duties and projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:
- Post Graduate degree, preferably MBA, from renowned Indian or global institution or CFA with graduation in any stream.
- Relevant industrial experience of 1-4 years
- Experience in infrastructure or sustainable energy sector investments and / or operations would be preferred.
- Experience of developing along with commercial and financial assessment of renewable energy projects / business in India.
- Basic understanding of overall policy and regulatory framework of Indian renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), particularly in building and running financial models along with basic accounting skills in Ms. Excel.
