**Reports To**: Head of Medical Records / Transcription Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for accurately transcribing audio recordings made by healthcare professionals into medical reports, correspondence, discharge summaries, and other documents. The role requires attention to detail, a good understanding of medical terminology, and adherence to hospital policies and confidentiality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Transcribe Medical Reports**: Convert voice recordings of physicians and other healthcare providers into written reports, such as patient histories, discharge summaries, operative reports, and clinical notes.
- **Proofreading and Editing**: Review and edit transcriptions for grammar, spelling, clarity, and medical terminology to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- **Maintain Confidentiality**: Safeguard sensitive patient information and ensure all transcriptions are handled in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- **Formatting Documents**: Ensure that transcriptions are properly formatted according to hospital guidelines for inclusion in patient files.
- **Collaboration with Medical Staff**: Clarify any unclear or ambiguous information in dictations by communicating with physicians or other healthcare personnel.
- **Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Integration**: Upload or enter transcribed documents into the hospital's EMR system for easy access by the medical staff.
- **Stay Updated on Medical Terminology**: Keep up-to-date with changes in medical terminology, procedures, and treatments to ensure accurate transcription.
- **Quality Assurance**: Participate in periodic reviews to ensure transcription quality meets hospital standards.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Background**: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in medical transcription or a related field preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience as a medical transcriptionist, preferably in a hospital setting.
- **Medical Terminology**: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- **Attention to Detail**: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- **Typing Skills**: Proficient typing skills with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute.
- **Computer Proficiency**: Familiarity with word processing software and EMR systems.
- **Communication Skills**: Good verbal and written communication skills for clarifying dictations with healthcare professionals.
- **Confidentiality**: Strict adherence to confidentiality and data protection standards. Immediate joiner for hospital

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Day shift
