Accountant II

The Accounting & Reporting Accountant II provides timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting as directed by management. This job is responsible for preparing journal entries, financial statements and participating in closing processes. Under moderate supervision, this job performs a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure that the company is in compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports in accordance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes based on to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
- Maintains accounting statements, reports, GL accounts, cost revenue reports, balance sheets, and / or bank statement reconciliations in order to ensure smooth functioning of Accounting processes.
- Verifies accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records including detailing financial business transactions (e.g., invoice approvals, disbursements, expense vouchers, and wire payments).
- Researches the impacts of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards on existing and new transaction accounting regulations.

Financial Reporting Systems Associate

The Finance Data Office team is part of the Office of the CFO and Chief Accounting Office Organization. This associate will be a member of a team of professionals that serve as the organizational centre of excellence for governing and maintaining various financial reporting and data management systems, such as PeopleSoft and Data Relationship Manager (DRM). This role is critical to enable well governed and trustworthy data to support our business partners who rely on the data for reporting and analysis. The associate will be responsible for making standard changes to these systems in a production environment while maintaining governance and controls.

This role is comprised of end-to-end PeopleSoft Administration and security, responsible for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data within the PeopleSoft environment. It involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls and processes to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance with relevant regulations for Audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- PeopleSoft General Ledger Administration
- Design and implement effective security controls for the PeopleSoft environment, including user access, roles, and permissions, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties in collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and auditors.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for PeopleSoft and nVision reporting, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Manage user provisioning and deprovisioning processes for PeopleSoft.
- Monitor and analyse security logs and reports related to PeopleSoft.
- Facilitate PeopleSoft Update Manager software development lifecycle testing as module owner of the General Ledger module
- Updating and creating of SOP and user manuals
- Maintain ChartField combination editing rules
- Maintain business units/ledgers/sources
- Manage user entitlements and workflow processing
- Promote process efficiency and control improvements of the Ledger
- Develop end-user training and quick reference guide library
- DRM administration
- Understand and Maintain DRM hierarchies and attributes that are used to manage inbound data mapping (Legal entities, Accounts, Departments, Product, Book Code, Fund, etc.)

REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- 5 - 10 years of experience in an analytical, technical, accounting, finance, or related role
- Experience with financial accounting systems
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work as an effective team player and ability to collaborate
- Demonstrated strength in analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve targeted outcomes
- A commitment to a culture of excellence and client service
- A sense of urgency, results orientated and thoughtful execution skills
