- **Patient Monitoring and Assessment**:ICU nurses continuously monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation, and assess their overall condition, including neurological status and fluid balance.
- **Medication Administration**:They administer prescribed medications, including intravenous fluids and medications, and monitor for any adverse reactions.
- **Treatment and Procedures**:ICU nurses assist physicians with various procedures, such as intubation, central line insertion, and mechanical ventilation, and perform tasks like wound care and catheter care.
- **Equipment Management**:They are responsible for operating and maintaining various specialized ICU equipment, such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:ICU nurses meticulously document patient care, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and any changes in the patient's condition, and communicate this information to the rest of the healthcare team.
- **Patient and Family Support**:They provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, explaining medical procedures and answering their questions.
- **Emergency Response**:
