As a Principal User Researcher, you'll be crafting our enterprise admin, end-user, and mobile experiences for our Cloud and on-premises products that will help transform the way people work. You are an advocate for our customers, and you foster a culture of design thinking with your partner teams. You are curious, a critical and deep thinker, challenge assumptions at every turn, have exceptional presentation and communication skills, love collaboration, and have a good sense of humor.

This role requires skills in both traditional HCI, data science background, and someone who is passionate about solving problems with deep customer empathy, who does not shy away from challenges. Responsibilities include data science, evaluation exercises, and strategic generative/ concept field research for parts of the Product & Engineering organizations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leads strategic research at all phases of product life cycle to inform users or product opportunities
- Recognized and sought out by others as an expert in research across various domains
- Innovates and envisions user research approaches across products, domains, and complex systems in ill-defined areas
- Plays a significant role in the development and delivery of new product innovation
- Works with Executives, Product-Line Leaders in Product Management, Engineering, and other core cross-functional teams to inform new projects, product lines, or core infrastructure projects
- Helps set organization vision and actively aligns efforts to achieve it
- Helps set organization goals, creates team assignments, and effectively engages team members to achieve goals
- Leads and mentors other team members - across business units and functional areas - on strategic projects
- Presents regularly in broad group-wide or company-wide forums (e.g. brown bags, tech)
- Creates communiqués to explain UX position, value, and philosophy on higher-level topics (e.g. user models and personas, research frameworks, etc.)
- Embodies and advocates the mission and goals of UX within organization
- Identifies and solves problems, improves personal skills, and assists team members
- Educates cross-functional team on how to conduct research with a high degree of rigor
- Drives framework creation for team culture, processes, and documentation

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in user/product/software UX research space
- Excels at complex problem-solving and trouble-shooting
- Demonstrated mentorship and leadership experience is required
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis required
- Demonstrates expertise user-centered design and research methods
- Affluent storyteller in both written and verbal communications across teams
- Fosters and drives change, creativity, and flexibility for others within the organization
- Has a strong portfolio articulating research findings, methods, and recommendations
- Expertise in UX industry tools e.g., Qualtrics, Userzoom, Figma, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Cognition, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology preferred or related degrees with 12 years experience; applied experience with no degree, a Master’s degree with 8 years experience, or a PhD with 5 years experience also considered
