**Role and Responsibilities**
- Ensure that daily EHS inspections/safety walk & talks/toolbox talks/specific work-related safety briefings at sites, as applicable, are jointly carried out by the location Heads (Site Managers/Factory Heads/Location Managers, as applicable) to identify & assess all the activities specially the high-risk activities.
- Conduct EHS committee meetings minimum once in a month or as required, to discuss concerns, plan remedial actions and implement the same.
- Update and maintain EHS database, KPIs and other related information as required by BU/Division/Country on a monthly or weekly or daily basis.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs and mock drills for all employees to promote incident prevention.
- Ensure reporting, analysis, and closure of unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Identify and communicate the requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper implementation.
- Maintain all documentation related to environmental safety and health.
- Keep the Fire Hydrant system and Fire Fighting Equipment updated.
- Monitor on-site hazardous waste and ensure its proper disposal according to approved guidelines.
- Conduct in-house Fire Safety Audits, follow up regularly, and provide reminders for closure of non-conformities (NC).
- Manage the shop floor and plant area effectively.
- Ensure the fire hydrant pump house is in good condition and maintain appropriate levels of fire hydrant water, maintaining records in the logbook.
- Prepare and follow checklists on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for electrical safety, store safety, manual material handling, lifting tools and tackles, firefighting equipment, first aid box, emergency equipment, and all other EHS-related implementations on the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with the work permit system and monitor the works to ensure they are performed safely.
- Assume a lead role in driving the defined EHS objectives with contractors and site staff.
- Be actively involved in promoting and generating sound EHS practices through feedback and suggestion schemes.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards, risks and dangerous occurrences/near misses/unsafe conditions/unsafe acts.
- Investigate employee concerns relating to EHS and welfare issues.
- Encourage employees to take a proactive attitude towards health, safety and the environment.
- Promote and support health, safety and environment related LEAN project.
- Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and risks.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Manage emergency response planning and preparedness.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
**Qualifications Requirements**
Qualification: Bachelors /master’s degree in environmental science, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
**Mandatory Requirements**
- Industrial Safety Course as per factories act 1948.
- Knowledge to implement ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, CDP, SDGs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be having experience in Manufacturing Setup.
- MS Office.
