Position: Procurement Intern with Experience

Location: Shimla, India

Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the procurement team in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and general goods from suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and requirements, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to quality standards.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess product quality and pricing.
- Support the creation and maintenance of supplier databases, including contact information, product specifications, and contract terms.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
- Participate in supplier performance evaluation processes, tracking delivery times, quality issues, and overall supplier reliability.
- Coordinate with finance and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate and timely payment processing for procurement orders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence.
- Provide administrative support for the procurement team, including documentation, reporting, and data entry.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in pharmaceutical, medical devices, and general goods procurement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and general goods sectors.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing procurement landscapes.
