Job Title / Role: Assistant Manager - Data Privacy (Assistant Manager - Data Privacy_D&AI- Digital Defense)

Education Qualification: A qualified lawyer (LLB/LLM) or any similar educational

Required Experience: 1 - 4Years

Job Responsibilities:

- Own and keep under constant review all the Group’s global data protection compliance
- Arrangements to include updating policies and guidance, centralising processes and putting in place robust, time-bound remedial plans where necessary
- Support in developing and maintaining relevant global internal data privacy policies and training
- Assessing in-house and external apps in terms of privacy compliance (domestic and global landscape)
- Informing and advising the group entities on the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, etc. and its requirements, liaising with local support as required
- Support in partnering with all key business areas, particularly the IT Security team, to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives
- Act as a liaison to the company's Global Council in relation to global and domestic data privacy issues
- Help manage the data privacy network/ technology across all group offices/ entities
- Handle enquiries and issues relating to data privacy practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten, and related rights, technological implementations
- Monitor the industry landscape to keep visibility on evolutions, trends, latest technology and best practices related to Data Privacy
- Support in ensuring that systematic compliance audits are undertaken and that their findings are reported and acted upon

Job Requirements:

- A qualified lawyer (LL.B./ LL.M.)/ Certified Professional with excellent academic credentials
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of data privacy and protection, data handling and data classification (CIPP, DCPP, CIPM, DCPLA certifications preferred)
- Demonstrate experience of managing data privacy issues in a global organization
- Expertise in global and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth
- understanding of the GDPR and Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Capable of conducting data privacy compliance reviews
- Ability to develop awareness and communications at all levels within the Group
- Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence
- Strong attention to details
