Lab Chemist-biodiesel

**Job Title**: Biodiesel Lab Chemist

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished biodiesel products.
- Monitor and analyze biodiesel properties, including density, viscosity, flashpoint, and acid number.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASTM D6751 and IS 15607.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for biodiesel production.
- Investigate deviations in product quality and suggest corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed lab reports and document test results.
- Assist in R&D activities to enhance biodiesel production efficiency and quality.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemical waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to optimize process parameters.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in biodiesel or biofuel production.
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as titration, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience in biodiesel production and quality control.
- Knowledge of fuel blending and alternative fuels.
- Proficiency in using lab software for data analysis and reporting.
