Job Responsibility

**Reports to**: Senior Accountant/Finance Manager

**Job Purpose**:
To assist in the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting the preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and transaction processing. This role will focus on ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the finance team in maintaining the company’s financial health.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Bookkeeping & Accounting**:

- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping tasks, including the processing of daily transactions, general ledger entries, and journal entries.
- Support in preparing and maintaining vouchers, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions such as revenue, expenses, receipts, and payments using accounting software.
- ** Reconciliation & Settlement**:

- Conduct regular reconciliations of client accounts, bank accounts, and other financial ledgers to ensure the accuracy of records.
- Assist in reconciling stock broking transactions (buy/sell orders, brokerage charges) with clients' trading accounts and settlement obligations.
- Follow up with internal teams or banks for any discrepancies or mismatches in account settlements.
- ** Accounts Payable & Receivable**:

- Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate invoicing for clients.
- Assist in tracking outstanding payments from clients and prepare monthly receivables reports.
- Verify, process, and pay invoices in accordance with company policies.
- ** Regulatory Compliance**:

- Support in preparing and filing financial statements and regulatory reports required by authorities such as SEBI, exchanges, and tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with taxation rules, including GST, TDS, and other statutory filings.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IND-AS) and SEBI guidelines for stock broking companies.
- ** Financial Reporting**:

- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Collaborate with senior accountants to compile data and information for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
- ** Audits & Internal Control**:

- Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and financial records.
- Ensure that all financial activities are accurately recorded, and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Support in improving and maintaining internal control systems and procedures.
- ** Taxation**:

- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns such as GST, TDS, and advance tax.
- Ensure accurate computation of taxes and deductions from client transactions and company revenue.
- Keep updated with changes in tax regulations and assist in implementing the same.
- ** Support to Finance Team**:

- Provide administrative and financial support to the finance and accounting teams.
- Assist in managing payroll processing and ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Work with other departments to ensure accurate financial data sharing and coordination.

**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reconciliations.
- Timely completion of statutory filings and tax returns.
- Number of discrepancies identified and resolved in settlements and reconciliations.
- Timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.
- Contribution to successful internal and external audits.

**Required Skills**:

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems.
- Basic knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and taxation, specifically related to stock broking.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related fields. 0-2 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in financial services or stock broking. Knowledge of SEBI regulations, stock broking processes, and taxation is an added advantage. Pursuing or completed certification (CA Inter, ICWA, or other accounting certifications) would be a plus.
