Function
The Vetting Superintendent is responsible to provide support across the fleet on marine, vetting and technical matters.
The Vetting Superintendent is accountable for:
- Scheduling SIRE inspections as per commercial requirements
- Submitting vetting related responses, resolving, and updating them in a timely manner
- Assisting the safety team in Investigating / reviewing of incident reports in consultation with FS manager

Tasks
Tasks shall include but not be limited to:
- Maintain a vetting schedule for all vessels, coordinate, and arrange vetting inspections in consultation with the fleet cells
- Guide and support the vessels and fleet cells during vetting preparations and inspections
- Maintain and monitor timelines for SIRE inspection replies. Submit the vetting related responses in SIRE portal. Follow up with the fleet cells on the open vetting deficiencies and guide them for their effective closeout
- Maintain a database of oil major requirements related to SIRE inspections
- Maintain a database of oil majors’ Minimum Safety Criteria (MSC) requirements
- Check vessels’ compliance with the above Minimum Safety Criteria requirements in liaison with the fleet cells
- Assist the safety team to Investigate / review incident reports in consultation with vetting manager and share the fleetwide preventive actions with the fleet cells and vessels (as applicable)
- Assist to conduct debriefings of seafarers involved in incidents and injuries
- Prepare vetting performance presentations for use during BTRM training, crew briefings, office induction and crew seminars
- Conduct vetting part of company induction training to newly inducted seafarers
- Assist in conducting fleet wide campaigns in consultation with Vetting Manager
- Assist in preparation of fleet flashes and bulletins in consultation with the Vetting Manager
- Provide inputs for development and review of JSAs and PMS
- Update vetting related data in quarterly and annual MRM report
- Monitor fleet KPIs and provide inputs to develop action plans for improvement
- Handle common fleet wide safety, marine, vetting, technical and purchase matters in consultation with Safety Manager

Minimum Experience
2 years’ experience in a senior management position on board of which minimum 6 months as Master or 1-year experience in a similar rank in shore-based position
