**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development**:

- Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Assess students' skills to determine their needs and develop teaching plans.

**2. Instruction and Adaptation**:

- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
- Use special education strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.

**3. Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop, review, and revise IEPs.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and any issues that arise.
- Serve as a resource for general education teachers and staff to ensure the integration of students into mainstream classes.

**4. Classroom Management**:

- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students.
- Implement behavioral management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment.

**5. Professional Development**:

- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with new teaching strategies, technologies, and developments in the field of special education.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

**6. Record Keeping and Compliance**:

- Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding special education.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.

School-based environment with standard working hours.

Interaction with students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff.
