**Job Purpose**

The ten-year, multi-million-dollar Child Opportunity Fund (COF), which is one of the most ambitious programmes for the British Asian Trust, focuses on five high prevalence states and seeks to address the abuse, exploitation and violence against children.

The Officer-MEL will contribute to the British Asian Trust's success by working with partner organisations in Bihar and UP or Delhi and Rajasthan to ensure the COF programme is monitored and evaluated to a high standard. Ensure that Child Opportunity Fund's programmes are monitored and evaluated to a high standard, enabling British Asian Trust and partner organisations to report on results and impact. This position will report to the Senior Manager
- MEL, Child Opportunity Fund.

**Key Tasks and Deliverables**
- Support partners by setting the standard for data collection, entry, management, analysis, preparation of monthly and quarterly progress report.
- Periodically review project level systems for capturing data and assess its effectiveness in monitoring against project outcomes.
- Provide technical support to facilitate the daily management of the project MEL systems and implement Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks and tools for each programme.
- Provide quality assurance checks on data produced by British Asian Trust and partners.
- Run analysis and think critically about the results.
- Review the progress made by partner organisations in a particular state.
- Be the focal point for the delivery of MEL systems in Bihar & UP or Delhi & Rajasthan.
- Highlight the capacity gaps, non-performance or any other issues related to programs of the partner organisations and bring any concern to the notice of the Senior Manager
- MEL and Senior Programme Officer-State.
- Undertake regular (at least once a quarter) program monitoring visits to review partner progress and assess implementation of MEL activities against plans.
- Ensure timely, good quality data on the programme is being generated and is being reported.
- Ensure that British Asian Trust staff and partners abide by the MEL schedule for data collection and the production of timely, high-quality analysis and reports.
- Support in research or studies, base line or end-line survey that would be undertaken by the state/s and review state specific research report and share it with the Senior Manager
- MEL.
- Prepare State Programme Dashboard on monthly intervals for the Senior Manager
- MEL and Head of Child Opportunity Fund.
- Ensure timely submission of progress reports by every partner organisations by working closely with the Head of Partner Organisation and the Programme Coordinator/ Manager of the British Asian Trust supported project.

The role requires a motivated professional, able to work well independently and as part of a team and who has:

- Bachelor/** **Master's degree in Population Studies/ Economics/ Statistics/ Social Sciences or other relevant fields;. - **E**:

- Strong technical understanding of the development and implementation of MEL systems and strategies, quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation methods, data analysis, reporting. - **E**:

- Experience of managing medium and large scale qualitative and quantitative research, ideally on Child Rights. - **E**:

- Strong analytical skills to appraise and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, evaluations, Terms of References and other Monitoring and Evaluation documents. - **E**:
