**SUMMARY**

The legal executive will be responsible for imparting their research and conceptual skills in preparing legal documents, vetting them, and maintaining compliance. While doing so, he/she shall maintain a clear and open channel of communication and support the organization in all legal activities.

The Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI) is an independent nonprofit institute developing AI-based solutions for underserved communities in developing countries.

Our current portfolio of initiatives spans tuberculosis, maternal, newborn and child health, Covid-19, and cotton farming.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Draft agreements including NDAs, grant/subgrant agreements, software/IP Licensing agreements, research/clinical trial agreement, purchase/work agreements, etc
- Will review and negotiate agreements with vendors and other third parties
- Represent the legal department both externally with vendors and internally with other lines of the business
- Support risk management and litigation initiatives as requested
- Management of the company's electronic contract database and management system

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have 1-4 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial especially IP related agreements.
- Should have LLB degree
- Procurement related degree/diploma strongly preferred
- Experience from research/pharmaceutical industry would be desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality
