So, if the below description strikes a chord, we would love to hear from you **At CEEW, we build careers in public policy** - We offer strong visionary leadership - with emphasis on research and impact at scale - We actively promote leadership by initiative - We celebrate talent and ambition - You will be surrounded by smart people who will challenge you and help you grow - You will learn faster than your peers in other organisations - Curiosity and irreverence, as well as responsibility, come together at CEEW - You will get above-market remuneration - We provide a safe space for all - At CEEW, your life is your example for others **Designation offered** Research Intern **Team/ Focus area** Clean Air **Reporting to** Programme Associate **Location** New Delhi **Duration** 6 months (Extendable based on performance) **Purpose** The intern will contribute to calculation of Emission of Industries and Technical & cost benefit study of different type of Boilers: - Participate in the technical evaluation of different types of boilers, examining operational efficiency, fuel usage, and emission performance. - Conduct a cost-benefit analysis of alternative boiler technologies by comparing installation costs, operating expenses, emission compliance, and energy efficiency. - Aid in the preparation of technical reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to regulators, industry stakeholders, and the broader research team. - Assist in the collection, cleaning, and analysis of CEMS data to estimate actual pollutant emissions from selected industries. - Support the interpretation of emission trends and variability across industrial sectors using time-series CEMS data. **Job duties**and accountabilities** **Research & Analysis**: - Assist in collecting and analysing CEMS data from selected industrial units to estimate real-time emissions of key pollutants (e.g., PM, SO₂, NOx). - Use advanced data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Python/R) to identify trends, outliers, and emission hotspots across industries. - Conduct technical research on the design, operation, and emission characteristics of different types of industrial boilers. - Evaluate boiler performance in terms of fuel efficiency and suitability for cleaner fuels. - Perform cost-benefit analyses to compare capital, operational costs, and environmental impact of various boiler technologies. - Review relevant environmental regulations and standards (e.g., CEMS guidelines, emission norms) to ensure alignment of findings with compliance frameworks. - Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder engagement materials. **Selection Criteria** **Qualification** - Bachelor’s/Master’s in Environmental / Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation & Control / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. **Work experience** - 0-1 year of experience in emission monitoring and analysis using CEMS data, boiler operation and performance assessment, or thermal energy systems in industrial settings. **Key skills** - Desirable: Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth Engine for spatial analysis and mapping of industrial clusters. - Desirable: Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R) and data visualization for interpreting CEMS data and emission trends. - Preferable: Exposure to boiler or furnace operations, including basic understanding of thermal processes, fuel types, and efficiency calculations. - Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through verbal and written formats, with effective presentation and active listening skills. - Willingness to Travel: Open to conducting field visits and on-site assessments at industrial locations as needed for data verification and stakeholder interaction. **Compensation** Competitive compensation - commensurate to the experience and matching the best standards adopted by the industry or other similar organisations for similar roles. **Application Process
