**Key Responsibilities**:
**Server Administration**

1. Server Deployment and Configuration:

- Deploy, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and associated

software.
- Install and update server software, patches, and security updates as necessary.
- Set up and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) if applicable.

2. System Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

- Monitor server performance, resource utilization, and network connectivity to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Conduct system performance tuning and optimization to ensure efficient operation and

response times.
- Implement load balancing and failover mechanisms for high availability and reliability.

3. Security and Data Protection:

- Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard servers and data from

unauthorized access, viruses, and malware.
- Create and enforce server access controls, user accounts, and permissions.
- Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity to prevent data loss.

4. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

- Respond to server-related incidents and problems, troubleshoot root causes, and resolve

issues within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with other IT teams to diagnose and address complex technical problems.

5. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures for server systems.
- Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing to validate the effectiveness of recovery

plans.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on server performance, capacity, and incidents for management

review.

7. Automation and Scripting:

- Leverage automation tools and scripting languages to streamline repetitive tasks and

improve efficiency.

8. System Upgrades and Technology Evaluation:

- Plan and execute server hardware and software upgrades as necessary to keep systems up-to-date.
- Evaluate new server technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.

9. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and align server systems accordingly.
- Share knowledge and provide training to other team members when necessary.

**Network Administration**

1. Network Infrastructure Management:

- Design, configure, and maintain the organization's local area network (LAN) and wide area

network (WAN).
- Install, configure, and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and

access points.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security to proactively identify and resolve

issues.

2. Network Security:

- Implement and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect the

organization's network and data.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and

virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate

potential weaknesses.

3. Access Control and Authentication:

- Set up and manage user access controls and authentication mechanisms to ensure proper

data protection.
- Maintain and regularly review user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

4. Incident Response and Threat Management:

- Monitor network traffic and security alerts for signs of potential security breaches or

unauthorized access.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and take appropriate actions to

mitigate risks.
- Stay informed about the latest security threats and vulnerabilities to proactively protect the network.

5. Network Performance Optimization:

- Analyse network traffic patterns and optimize network performance and efficiency.
- Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical network traffic.

6. Network Backup and Recovery:

- Establish and maintain network backup and recovery processes to ensure data continuity.
- Conduct regular backup tests and validate data integrity.

7. Network Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the network infrastructure,

configurations, and security procedures.
- Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status.

8. Vendor Management:

- Collaborate with vendors to procure network and security-related products and services.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts effectively.

9. Training and User Support:

- Provide training and support to end-users on network access and security best practices.
- Assist users in resolving network connectiv
