Screen Printing Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Manual Screen Printing Operator to manage and execute the entire screen printing process. The operator will handle everything from design creation to final product packaging, with the support of a helper. The role involves preparing artwork, performing CMYK color separations, operating the manual press, curing, and packaging printed items—mainly T-shirts. This is a hands-on role where the operator will be responsible for end-to-end production with mínimal supervision.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Design Creation & Color Separation**:
Create or adapt designs for printing, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and are suitable for screen printing.

Perform CMYK color separations using CorelDRAW and Photoshop, preparing high-quality artwork files for each print color layer.

Make necessary adjustments to artwork to ensure accurate color matching and printability.

**Screen Preparation**:
Prepare screens by coating them with emulsion, exposing them to the design, and washing out the stencils.

Ensure screens are properly aligned, cleaned, and ready for printing.

**Manual Press Setup & Operation**:
Set up the manual screen printing press, ensuring correct mesh tension, squeegee pressure, and registration for each color layer.

Mix and prepare inks, ensuring accurate CMYK color matching for each job.

Load and align substrates (e.g., T-shirts) on the press for printing.

Operate the manual press, making sure to maintain consistent quality, alignment, and ink flow.

Adjust machine settings as needed during production to maintain print quality.

**Printing & Quality Control**:
Monitor print quality throughout the run, ensuring color accuracy, registration, and overall print clarity.

Work with the junior helper to assist in changing screens, loading substrates, and managing the printing process.

Regularly inspect prints to ensure consistency and quality; make any necessary adjustments to ink or machine settings.

**Curing & Finishing**:
Oversee the curing or fusing process to ensure prints are properly set and durable on the fabric.

Ensure that all printed T-shirts are cured correctly to prevent fading or peeling.

Assist the junior helper in folding, organizing, and packing finished T-shirts for shipment.

**Post-Production & Packaging**:
Inspect finished products for defects such as smudges, misprints, or incorrect curing.

Package the T-shirts carefully for shipping or distribution, ensuring that they are securely packed and labeled appropriately.

**Maintenance & Workspace Organization**:
Maintain and clean the press, screens, and other equipment after each job.

Conduct regular maintenance checks on tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Keep the workspace organized, ensuring that screens, materials, and tools are stored properly.

**Collaboration & Supervision**:
Supervise the junior helper, providing guidance on tasks such as substrate loading, screen changing, folding, and packing.

Communicate effectively with the junior helper to ensure smooth and efficient workflow during production.

**Health & Safety**:
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling of inks, chemicals, and equipment.

Ensure a clean and safe working environment at all times.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
CorelDRAW and Photoshop proficiency for creating and separating designs in CMYK.

Strong experience with manual screen printing, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of color theory and CMYK separation techniques to ensure accurate color reproduction.

Experience with different substrates (mainly têxtiles, especially T-shirts) and understanding of their printing requirements.

Ability to perform all tasks independently, with mínimal supervision.

Detail-oriented and quality-conscious, with a focus on producing high-quality prints.

Ability to supervise and guide a junior assistant in a small, efficient team - we can add more people when the need arises.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

**Education & Experience**:
High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 2-3 years of experience in manual screen printing, with a strong understanding of CMYK separation and color management.

CorelDRAW and Photoshop proficiency is a must.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
