**Introduction**:
Represent Middleware as a Senior Messaging lead, managing a team of technicians, to roadmap, deliver, life cycle and maintain Messaging technologies.

Technical Road Mapping:
Accountable for the delivery of technical roadmaps for future direction of the product/Platform.

Accountable for promoting proactive remedial strategies to prevent future system problems and to improve the quality of delivered systems.

To ensure the continual improvement of effectiveness and efficiency of the management of products and services

Product/Platform Engineering/Ownership:
Be recognized as the key point of contact for a suite of Messaging products, drawing on all relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

To use system specific knowledge and expertise to define strategies that provides business solutions.

People Management:
To effectively manage a team including work assignment, personal development and career planning, ensuring skilled resources levels are maintained, coaching / mentoring and driving/leading change to organizational transformation / process improvement.

**What will you be doing?**
- Technically lead multiple, complex Messaging deliveries.
- Manage a team of resources being responsible for the deliver, life cycle, integrity, availability and utility of Messaging products and services
- To be instrumental in formulating and supporting Private Cloud & Middleware strategies for constantly improving delivery model within the team Continually evaluating current processes and implementing new innovations within the team where applicable presenting these back to senior managers and key stakeholders in the business to gain ‘buy in’ and driving new innovations through to implementation tracking and monitoring their success
- Identify own development needs and seek opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training
- Set goals and objectives; manage the PD plans; performance assessment and reward; performance calibration; own pay-round input for the Internet team
- Provide coaching and development on tools and process; act as mentor in field of expertise (either within the team and/or across the wider Digital Office Team)

**What we’re looking for**:

- SME knowledge of Messaging Technologies - IBM Websphere MQ, IBM Integration BUS, Kafka, AMQ etc
- Working in Distributed Operating Systems and Cloud Technologies
- Service management tools - ServiceNow
- Demonstrable track record of managing successful teams

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Proven ability to develop and manage senior level stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of Middleware and Enterprise Technology position in the Bank
- Experience in working with multi-location teams
- Participate in tasks at org level like training/social activities to promote Barclays culture
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving root cause of problems,
- Experienced with planning, estimating, staffing, organizing, and managing multiple technical work streams, monitored and dealt with critical paths and risks areas
