Key Responsibilities:

- **Curriculum Development and Planning**:

- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with the IB DP Chemistry curriculum and standards.
- Create engaging and challenging learning activities that foster critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.
- Plan and deliver instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry, including lab work and experiments.
- **Instruction and Classroom Management**:

- Teach IB DP Chemistry courses, including Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) classes, utilizing diverse teaching methods to address various learning styles.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for chemistry.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**:

- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress in chemistry.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, projects, and exams.
- Monitor and document student performance, ensuring that students meet the learning objectives and prepare for IB assessments.
- **Student Support**:

- Offer additional support and guidance to students who need help understanding complex concepts or preparing for assessments.
- Encourage students to develop strong study habits, research skills, and a passion for chemistry.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and any concerns.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay current with developments in IB Chemistry curriculum, teaching practices, and educational technologies.
- Participate in IB professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the science department.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Prepare and submit lesson plans, progress reports, and other necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Attend faculty meetings, IB curriculum meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.
- Participate in school committees or special projects related to the IB program.

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field is preferred.
- IB certification or training in IB Diploma Programme Chemistry is highly desirable.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience teaching IB DP Chemistry or a similar advanced chemistry course is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach both HL and SL Chemistry effectively.
