**POSITION **School Nurse
**DIVISION **Health and Wellness - Administrative Staff

**CONTRACT **Annual Renewal Contract - 220 working days

**Position Summary**:

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide appropriate care and treatment for any injured or unwell member of the ASB community.
- Offer health education to students, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with the health team to provide care for all school events on both campus and off-campus.
- Accountable for all medical supplies in the health office and around campus, maintaining an efficient and well-equipped health office.
- Maintain first aid boxes in classrooms, buses, and vans.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date health records of students and staff.
- Conduct student hearing and vision screenings.
- Administer on-campus vaccination for staff.
- Dispense prescription medications to students per physician instructions.
- Report any possible communicable disease or significant injury or concern to the Health Office Head.
- Provide medical support during sports tournaments or other co-curricular activities covering all school events.
- Facilitate medical check-ups for new ASB employees.
- Lead health education initiatives and required training under the supervision of the Health Office Head.
- Teach First Aid and CPR classes.
- Support staff beyond regular school hours.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid GNM and or BSC Nursing or equivalent from a recognized university.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with pediatrics or emergency nursing preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with spoken and written English

**Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities**:

- Principles and practices underlying professional nursing
- Knowledge of current practices in school health
- Understanding of regulatory norms and international practices in healthcare.
- Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
- Work collaboratively.
- Take ownership and work independently.
- Manage complexity and problem-solve
- Flexibility to work variable hours to cover the needs of the Health Office.
