We’re looking for a smart, driven individual to join us as a Data Scientist in our Bangalore workspace.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely within the analytics team to enhance and maintain Velocity’s current risk and credit decisioning models
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and business/risk analysts to build data science solutions to influence and drive decision making across Velocity's offerings
- Use data to help management and operations identify and escalate business issues and opportunities

Requirement & Skills

A Bachelor's or higher degree with 3-5 Yrs of experience in Data Science/Analytics/Risk Strategy

**Programming skills**:
1. Python (strong) - experience with base Python, numpy, pandas

2. SQL (strong)

3. ML libraries (sklearn) - basic to intermediate

4. Experience using git and shell scripting

**Other skills**:
1. Ability to clearly communicate and work with people of different backgrounds.

2. Good understanding of ML algorithms, the underlying math and most importantly, their limitations
