**Job Summary**: Mentors Architects and Design Managers within the regional engineering, design, construction and site operations job families. Assists the master planning, room programming and logistics layouts for new projects. Leads medium to large scale projects and the roll out of Architectural initiatives. Develops and implements policies and procedures. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, construction management and regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures. Plans and advises day to day operations and strategic direction of delivery of either multiple, large construction projects or delivery of operations for an IBX portfolio.

**Responsibilities**

Project Management
- Leads and manages multiple projects or other design, engineering or planning initiatives.
- Provides guidance, technical expertise and project leadership in ensuring projects or other design and engineering initiatives are meeting or exceeding company expectations
- Assists in the development and enforcement of Architectural Global Design Standards

Training
- Contributes to identifying and developing training programs
- Provides cross-functional training
- Acquires knowledge by growing experience with systems, vendor training, participation in industry groups or meetings and shadowing others
- Is SME with many systems and trains others inside and outside of the group

Contract Administration
- Contributes to developing and executing effective contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation

Leadership and Communications (Vendor Management)
- Mentors junior team members
- Advises all internal and external project team members
- Directs external vendors per project or initiative such as general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.
- Significantly contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationships
- Provides executive level communication including business requirements documents and sophisticated technical writing
- Communicates Equinix operations decisions to customers and conducts post incident communications with customers
- Predominantly peer-to-peer communication

Policy & Procedure Development and Adherence
- Significantly contributes to crafting and maintaining outstanding policies and procedures

Problem Solving
- Consistently solves complex, cross-functional issues requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve
- Makes recommendations for system level improvements to eliminate potential problems
- Tests suitability of components or action plans for deployments

Technical Expertise
- Has an expert level architectural knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of multiple facets of the relevant architectural discipline
- Develops and executes projects
- Reviews budget and scope, calculates savings pertaining to system improvement projects
- Calculates savings
- Leads internal and/or external engineering, design or construction related seminars/conferences

**Qualifications**
- 10+ years in mechanical system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with emphasis on datacenter or mission critical project delivery
- Bachelors Degree
