**Summary**:
As an SAP Basis Performance Tuning Expert, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance and stability of SAP systems, with a focus on SAP S/4 HANA and HANA Enterprise. Your role will involve analyzing system performance, identifying bottlenecks, proposing and implementing solutions, and ensuring that the SAP landscape delivers optimal performance to meet business requirements. Additionally, having experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and running SAP S/4 HANA on GCP would be considered a valuable asset to enhance the organization’s digital transformation initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth performance analysis of SAP S/4 HANA and HANA Enterprise systems to identify performance bottlenecks, high resource consumption, and potential areas for improvement.
- Basis Optimization: Optimize SAP Basis components, including system parameters, memory settings, database configurations, and workload distribution to achieve optimal system performance.
- HANA Database Performance: Analyze and fine-tune HANA database settings, query performance, indexing, and partitioning to optimize data retrieval and processing efficiency.
- Sizing: Collaborate with the project team to determine the appropriate hardware and resource requirements based on business needs. Conduct capacity planning and sizing exercises to ensure the SAP environment meets current and future demands.
- Scale-Up: Plan and execute scale-up activities by upgrading hardware resources, such as CPU, memory, and storage, to enhance system performance and accommodate increased user load.
- Scale-Out: Design and implement scale-out strategies, including horizontal scaling and distributed computing, to increase system capacity and handle growing workloads effectively.
- SAP Note and Help: Regularly monitor and analyze SAP notes and documentation related to performance optimization, sizing recommendations, and system improvements. Utilize SAP help resources to gain insights and best practices for resolving technical challenges.
- Research: Stay up to date with the latest SAP advancements, technologies, and performance optimization tools through continuous research. Explore innovative solutions to address complex performance-related issues.
- Cloud Experience (GCP): Demonstrate experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or any other cloud platform, and have knowledge of running SAP S/4 HANA on
- premise on GCP/other cloud platform. Utilize cloud infrastructure and services to enhance system scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- System Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track system performance metrics, proactively identify issues, and provide timely recommendations for improvement.
- Performance Testing: Plan and execute performance testing scenarios to assess system performance under different loads and stress conditions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve performance-related incidents and issues raised by end-users or other IT teams, providing expert-level technical support.
- Patching and Upgrades: Collaborate with the technical team to plan and execute system patches, upgrades, and migrations while ensuring mínimal impact on system performance.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of performance analysis, tuning techniques, sizing exercises, scale-up/scale-out strategies, cloud deployment, and research findings for future reference.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the SAP functional, technical, and infrastructure teams to implement performance-related changes, sizing recommendations, and align with business requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Leverage SAP notes, help resources, research findings, and cloud expertise to continuously improve system performance, sizing methodologies, scalability, and cloud integration.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an SAP Basis Performance Tuning Expert with a focus on SAP S/4 HANA and HANA Enterprise.
- Strong expertise in SAP Basis administration, including system performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and HANA Enterprise database architecture, tuning, and optimization.
- Proficiency in SAP performance monitoring and analysis tools.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA database and in-memory computing concepts.
- Strong understanding of SAP transport management and change control processes.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**Preferred Additional Skills**:

- SAP Basis certifications or relevant certifications in SAP S/4 HANA and HANA Enterprise.
