**Supervising and coordinating the stewarding team**: This involves assigning duties to kitchen stewards, dishwashers, and cleaners, and ensuring they are properly trained.
- **Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene**: Ensuring all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized according to hygiene standards.
- **Managing inventory**: Monitoring the use and stock of cleaning supplies and placing requisitions when needed.
- **Scheduling and managing staff**: Creating work schedules, delegating tasks, and managing attendance.
- **Ensuring compliance**: Adhering to health and safety regulations (FSSAI / HACCP).
- **Communicating and coordinating**: Working with the culinary team to support kitchen operations, and communicating with other departments.
- **Reporting and maintenance**: Conducting regular inspections, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring the proper use of equipment.
- **Training and development**: Training new stewarding staff and ensuring they meet hygiene standards.
