Job Responsibilities

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To abide by the mission statement of the hotel, department and the respective section.

2. To receive the guests and conduct them to the table.

3. To ensure that a guest is warmly greeted and escorted to the table.

4. To welcome regular guests by their name.

5. To present the menu and note down the orders.

6. To inform the Catering Assistant and also the Head Waiter/Assistant Head Waiter/Steward about the same.

7. To help in the proper execution of the order by assisting in service whenever required.

8. To answer question whenever asked by the guests.

9. To inform the guests about the important aspects and speciality of the restaurant.

10. To inform the guests about the preparation of the dishes served in the restaurant briefly whenever asked.

11. To assist the guests in ordering items keeping in mind their preferences.

12. To handle guests effectively with competence by observing restaurant manners.

13. To ensure special instructions and requests if any from a guest are duly carried out by keeping the Restaurant Manager informed of the same.

14. To attend all guests complaints in a prompt manner.

15. To ensure that the guest is comfortable at all times in the restaurant.

16. To wish the guests while leaving the restaurant and ask them their opinion on the visit.

17. To record all reservations correctly.

18. To handle cash as and when required.

19. To clear the table after the guest leaves.

20. To ensure that tables are kept clear, hygienically and guests served promptly.

21. To ensure that uniforms are always neat and clean and observe the grooming standards as laid down by the hotel.

22. Adherence to the guidelines mentioned in the TPAM and TCOC and thorough adherence to the IT etiquettes is to be followed.

23. To always adhere to personal grooming as per the standards laid down by the hotel and maintain high standards of grooming.

24. To perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by persons placed in authority above you.
