This role will provide the Data Analysis needed to drive data management and data integration development roadmap for S&G, focusing and enabling decision making in the function that directly drives success of Novartis through more effective product roadmaps, market analysis as well as evaluation for acquisitions.
Analyse the functional specifications and transform them into data requirements and solution design, ultimately leading to meeting the business expectations while assuring solutions are safe, compliant, reliable, scalable, and flexible.

Understand the overall system landscape and develop data flows to ensure high performing, scalable and secure solutions. Review deliverables to ensure adherence to enterprise data management guidelines and architecture principle.

Engage with S&G business and leverage the appropriate IT teams and Functions to determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and generate value.

**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Engage with various user communities in S&G to identify priority Business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts to transform business requirements into technical specifications, capturing data need, data source, transformations, compliance & access
- Highlight/identify gaps in data sources and drive requirements review with stakeholders.
- Analyse data and propose solutions to meet the technical specifications. Provide Solution design and technical specifications, and delegate responsibilities to data modelers, developers, and testers for development of the product/solution.
- Accountable for the overall delivery of product/solution and related deliverables.
- Ensure implemented solutions are according to specifications and fit for purpose. Align on priority and release with project manager and product owner.
- Ensure consistency and traceability between business requirements, data requirements, solution design, data model, data catalog, test cases, test execution and test results.
- Work with operations team to resolve any data related issues. Follow up to provide root cause analysis, risk remediation and learning.
- Support definition, implementation and tracking of effectiveness of best practices. Ability to understand and communicate with many different stakeholders, e.g., those in business, IT and quality.
- A solution-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of / exposure to Drug Research, Development or Commercialization portfolios would be an advantage

**Education**:

- University degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences or similar

**Experience / Professional requirements**
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in working in the Pharma or IT Industry
- A minimum of 6+ years of experience working in SQL, data mining, data cleansing, reporting and few analytics tools is a must and conversant with data architecture principles is an advantage.
- Experience in the Pharma domain is an advantage.
- Expert understanding of Data modeling & data pipeline design and system architecture concepts.
- Experience as a Developer/Analyst in a data and analytics Platforms is an advantage
- Ability to provide feasible technical solutions for complex data requirements.
- Proficient skills in global teams, collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, working in a matrix environment and conflict resolution.
- Working knowledge of agile methodologies an advantage.
- Exposure/working experience in digital innovation projects is an added advantage.
- Data Strategy, Data science or data standardization experience is an advantage.
