Description

**Designation**: Junior Engineer - Operation Excellence & Lean
**Location**: Coimbatore
**Division**: Operations
**Reporting To**: Manager - Operation Excellence & Lean

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Benchmarking Best Practices**: Analyze and benchmark best practices across various industries, implementing strategies to position Walkaroo as a world-class footwear manufacturer.
- **Process and Productivity Improvement**: Design and execute diverse initiatives for process and productivity improvement, including Lean manufacturing and 5S practices, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
- **Automation Projects**: Identify opportunities for new automation projects, including the implementation of Special Purpose Machines and Stitching Optimizations. Redefine and enhance job roles and responsibilities on shop floors to drive efficiency and cost improvements.
- **Standardization of Processes**: Conduct regular visits to all manufacturing units to standardize processes, identify areas for improvement, and ensure consistent results across all units.
- **Kaizen Program**: Lead the Kaizen Program by coordinating efforts across units, collecting data, and facilitating cross-implementation to drive continuous improvement.
- **QCC Program**: Implement and oversee the Quality Control Circle (QCC) program to involve employees in systematic problem-solving and quality improvement initiatives.
- **Systems Scalability and Reliability**: Enhance the scalability and reliability of Walkaroo's production systems to improve overall efficiency.

**Preferred Qualifications for the Role**:

- **Bachelor's Degree**: In Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- **Certifications**: Additional certifications in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- **Proficiency**: In utilizing Lean tools and methodologies for process improvement.
- **Data Analysis**: Familiarity with data analysis and statistical methods to support continuous improvement efforts.
- **Project Management**: Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and execute process improvement initiatives.
- **Communication Skills**: Effective communication skills to convey Lean principles and methodologies to cross-functional teams.
- **Track Record**: Proven track record of successful contributions to enhancing operational efficiency in previous roles.
- **Adaptability**: Willingness to adapt and stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in Lean and operational excellence practices.
