Data Architect

**Job Summary**

This role is responsible to define & deliver best in class Data Architecture solutions across all required domains pursuing enterprise relevant solutions for high-value critical Data. They will lead the data architecture efforts and the data architects in this space to deliver a highly connected, single version of truth through our Enterprise Semantic Layer. They will participate in defining their components within and adhere to overall project definition/scoping and requirements phase, budgeting estimation, budget control & management.

This role will estimate, plan and acquire internal & external resources relate to data architecture. Included in the scope of this role is the people & skills development and management, vendor management, timeline definition and management, delivery management & benefit realization for solutions involving Data Architecture.

Data Architecture needs sit across all Data areas (Master & Transactional data: including but not limited to Product/Item, Customer/Consumer, Location, Supplier/Vendor, Calendar, Price and all required Hierarchies, Reference data and Metadata, Transactional Data and the Enterprise Semantic layer and beyond). The scope includes the relevant components required to drive sound and scalable data architecture designs that are compiled through depth of Retail business experience. Enforcing data integrity & data quality maturity in support of both Operational centralization and Analytical excellence at scale

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, Govern, Execute and Manage Giant Eagle Data architecture Review boards to ensure Enterprise standardization is adhered to across all Giant Eagle data projects. Capability areas to be designed, managed & delivered through hands-on and direction of team:

- Anticipate and identify best practice data architecture principles across all required deliverables
- Manage team of talent (internal & external) - bringing cohesive solutions to life - further strengthening a ‘build once, deploy many’ approach.
- Partner with internal delivery partners to support deliveries for Enterprise Data Management, BI & Enterprise Data Platform and Analytics and Data Science. Engaging early and often throughout lifecycle of delivery needs
- Ensure solutions meet stability concerns for ongoing performance, maintenance and support.
- Propose & Adhere to Data Architecture & work delivery standards
- Adhere to agreed Demand Management and Program/Project Management to ensure work delivery alignment to strategic imperatives. Managing, planning and preventing capacity challenges across team resources - managing to high quality deliveries on time, on budget and in full quality stance.
- Able to “hands-on” - assist team with upskilling on technology and data architecture practices
- Develop, upskill, organize and coach internal existing talent to fulfill the DnA Strategy and delivery needs while creating a highly motivating work environment
- Effective management & leadership to directly manage teammates across US & India, along with the integration of partner talent for seamless delivery of services and software to assist in success
- Acquire, develop and coach new talent to increase skillset coverage in a highly collaborative working environment in partnership with LT and with existing teammates
- Build talent pipeline for both internal and external roles to enable agility in delivery timelines and meeting demands
