Overview

The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in an organization’s Agile transformation. They are responsible for facilitating the Scrum framework and ensuring that the team adheres to the Agile principles and practices. The Scrum Master serves as a servant-leader, guiding the team towards self-organization, continuous improvement, and delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating Scrum events and activities
- Coaching the team in Agile and Scrum principles
- Removing impediments to the team’s progress
- Helping the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period
- Protecting the team from interruptions and distractions
- Assisting with internal and external communication
- Fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts within the team
- Supporting the Product Owner and Development Team
- Guiding and coaching the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
- Educating the team on self-organization, cross-functionality, and metrics
- Evaluating the team's processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Facilitating discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Assisting with internal and external communication and improving transparency
- Enabling close cooperation across all roles and functions
- Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role
- Demonstrated knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Experience in software development and project management
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work with cross-functional and diverse teams
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time
- Passion for continuous improvement and learning
- Ability to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Understanding of software development processes and lifecycle
- Experience with Agile tools and metrics such as JIRA, etc.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kanban principles is a plus
