**Team Leadership**: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of developers, database administrators, and other IT professionals.Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, upgrading, and maintenance of Sybase databases.Software Development: Collaborate with software engineers to design and develop software solutions that integrate seamlessly with Sybase databases.Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance of the database systems.Data Security: Implement and maintain database security, including backups, restoration, and data protection strategies.Project Management: Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of software products.Customer Interaction: Interface with internal and external customers to gather requirements and provide technical support.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in database management and software development.
**Required Qualifications**: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: 6-8 years of experience in Sybase database administration, with a proven track record of leading software development projects.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sybase ASE and Replication Server.Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, and data modeling.Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.Experience with backup and recovery procedures.Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience in Agile methodologies.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, manage conflicts, and drive results.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in financial services or a similar industry.Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and data warehousing.Certification in Sybase or related technologies.Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions.
