Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with 5 years of specialized experience in complex database environments. This role requires hands-on expertise in managing and developing solutions within both Oracle and Sybase systems, focusing heavily on infra-level aspects of database structure and robust management practices. The developer will be responsible for working with complex data structures, ensuring optimal performance through effective SQL development, and managing essential operational tasks like backups and partitioning.

Job Description :

Database Development and Structure Management :

- Take primary responsibility for handling the infra-level aspect of the database structure, including schema design, table space management, and indexing strategies.

- Develop, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to ensure high efficiency and performance across transactional and reporting systems.

- Demonstrate mandatory knowledge and working experience with both Oracle and Sybase database platforms.

- Work hands-on with complex data structures, designing and implementing solutions that support high-volume, mission-critical applications.

- Enforce and adhere to best practices in Database Management to ensure data integrity, consistency, and security.

Performance and Operational Management :

- Possess practical knowledge about backups procedures, developing and monitoring backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.

- Implement and manage partitioning strategies for large tables within Oracle and Sybase to enhance query performance, data maintenance, and storage efficiency.

- Conduct routine performance monitoring and tuning, analyzing execution plans and making recommendations for hardware or configuration optimization.

- Collaborate with application teams to ensure efficient database interaction and proper indexing of newly developed application features.

Architecture and System Knowledge :

- Contribute to discussions regarding database upgrades, migrations, and strategic technology investments.

- Ensure all database development adheres to established security policies and compliance requirements.

- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : Mandatory 5 years of experience in database development and management.

- Core Systems : Mandatory knowledge and experience with Oracle and Sybase.

- Infra : Experience handling infra-level aspects like database structure and schema design.

- Development : Expertise in writing and tuning complex SQL queries, procedures, and functions.

- Management : Strong working knowledge of Database management principles.

- Operations : Knowledge about backups and partitions.
