The Supervisor - Ring Foundry will be responsible for supervising the end-to-end operations of sand moulding and molten metal casting processes for the production of piston rings, sleeves, etc. This role requires strong technical knowledge in mould preparation, metal pouring, casting defect control, and manpower management to ensure defect-free castings and consistent production output. Key Responsibilities:1. Sand Moulding Operations: Supervise preparation of sand and maintenance of sand properties (moisture,permeability, compactability, etc.). Ensure proper pattern mounting, mould closing, and assembly alignment. Monitor use and maintenance of jolt squeeze, hand moulding, or mechanized mouldinglines. Ensure moulds are free from defects before pouring.2. Casting Operations: Coordinate furnace charge preparation (material segregation, weight, melt quality). Oversee melting (induction) operations ensuring correct temperature and composition. Supervise metal pouring into moulds, ensuring controlled flow and safety compliance. Ensure proper de-gating, knock-out, and initial fettling operations post-solidification.3. Quality Control: Monitor process parameters and conduct visual inspection of moulds and castings. Identify and eliminate casting defects (shrinkage, porosity, cold shuts, misruns, etc.). Collaborate with the metallurgy and quality team for chemical and microstructuralconformity. Maintain documentation of daily production, rejection analysis, and casting yield.4. Maintenance & Safety: Ensure preventive maintenance of moulding machines, furnaces, and handlingequipment. Maintain workplace safety, and emergency handling protocols. Promote 5S, kaizen, and continuous improvement activities on the shop floor.5. Team Management: Supervise and allocate tasks to moulders, pourers, and helpers. Provide training and guidance on quality standards and safe working practices. Motivate the team to meet daily production targets with mínimal rework/rejections. Ability to handle pressure in a production environment.

Qualifications: Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg
- Experience: 5+ years in sand moulding and iron casting operations, preferably inpiston ring or precision casting industries
- Technical Knowledge:o Green sand preparation and testingo Cast Iron (GCI & SG) melting and casting process controlo Pattern design and gating system basicso Familiarity with casting defects and their root cause analysis
