SOCIAL MEDIA PRODUCER FOR VISUALS, BANGALORE

Prior experience in UGC newsgathering would be a clear advantage, as would evidence of an ability to identify breaking stories and emerging trends on social media. However, as full training will be given, a willingness to learn quickly, communicate clearly and work accurately under pressure are at least as important.
Fluent spoken and written English are a pre-requisite, other languages will confer an advantage.
Other requirements:

- Strong writing capabilities
- A determined approach and an ability to work in a team environment
- Basic video editing skills

Duties include:
Searching social media for photographs and videos of breaking news events
Using tools and techniques to verify content so Reuters can be sure it is genuine
Obtaining copyright clearance of content so it can be distributed by Reuters
Ensuring that content is distributed quickly and effectively
Editing video and writing accompanying stories for Reuters’ clients
Identifying newsworthy trending topics and pitching digital-friendly stories
Working under pressure to tight deadlines on own initiative
