**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Database Management**: Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- **Performance Tuning**: Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues. Perform tuning, query optimization, and index management to enhance database performance.
- **Backup and Recovery**: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies. Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
- **Security Management**: Implement and maintain database security by establishing roles, privileges, and access controls. Monitor and mitigate security threats to the database.
- **Data Migration**: Plan and execute data migration and transformation tasks as needed, ensuring mínimal downtime and data loss.
- **Automation**: Automate routine tasks using scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- **Documentation**: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and standards.

**Required Skills**:

- PostgreSQL Expertise: Extensive experience in PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and tuning.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Backup and Recovery: Hands-on experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies.
- Security: Familiarity with database security best practices and tools.
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL).
- Knowledge of other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools.
- Certification in PostgreSQL administration or related fields.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
