Duty Medical Officer

**Job Title**: Duty Medical Officer (DMO)

**Reporting to**: Duty Medical Officer -Lead

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Patient Care**:

- Perform initial assessments, monitor ongoing treatments, and provide follow-up care for fertility patients.
- Assist in managing patients undergoing IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization), IUI (Intrauterine Insemination), ovulation induction, and other fertility treatments.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report complications or deviations promptly.
- **Clinical Support**:

- Assist in procedures like ultrasound scans, egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and semen analysis as required.
- Provide emergency care to patients experiencing acute complications during fertility treatment cycles.
- Coordinate with the laboratory and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients, ensuring compliance with hospital and legal requirements.
- Monitor patient schedules, ensure adherence to treatment protocols, and manage emergencies effectively.
- Prepare and update patient treatment plans in coordination with senior medical staff.
- **Counseling & Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.
- Address patient concerns empathetically and professionally, providing clear explanations about procedures and care plans.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical protocols, and quality standards specific to fertility care.
- Participate in audits, staff meetings, and continuous medical education programs.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- **Education**: MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience (experience in a fertility or gynecology setting preferred).
- Experience in managing fertility-related emergencies is an advantage.
- **Skills**:

- Strong clinical acumen and familiarity with fertility procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and work effectively under pressure.
- Team player with a patient-centered approach.

**Working Hours**:

- Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per hospital requirements.

**Additional Preferences**:

- Certification or training in reproductive health or gynecology is desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
