**Bioinformatician Quality Assurance**

Location: Pune, India

PierianDx, a leader in the clinical genomics space, is currently seeking talented and motivated Quality Assurance engineers. As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Pierian, you will be part of an industry-leading team developing software solutions for clinical laboratories. You will work closely with architects, software developers, bioinformaticians and scientists to perform software quality assurance activities. Your contributions will enable clinical laboratories and physicians to deliver accurate patient-specific diagnoses and treatments based on an individual’s DNA.

**About Pierian**

**Job responsibilities**
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and bioinformaticians to develop and document test plans to exercise all aspects of multiple systems and analytical pipelines in the development
- Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing including executing test cases investigating issues identified and logging defects
- Create documentation to record testing phases and provide test execution reports
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the bioinformatics analytical pipelines’ development lifecycle
- High energy and inquisitive and strong attention to detail

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Masters degree in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, biochemistry or bioinformatics
- Total years of experience: 2 to 5 years (Bioinformatics experience is a plus)
- Strong basic genetics and molecular biology knowledge
- Good Understanding of Genomics
- Good technical documentation (written and oral) and organizational skills
- Proactive and inquisitive approach, strong attention to detail and collaborative attitude to work with scientific SMEs and domain teams

**Good to have**
- Understanding of software development life cycle practices (SDLC)
- Basic Testing concepts including V&V processes, acceptance testing, unit tests, and regression testing and automation tools
- Awareness of QMS
- Experience in software testing, preferably in the medical device or life sciences industry
- Experience in handling/processing large data (files systems or db)
- Demonstrated ability in scientific scripting languages: Perl, R, and Python (Python is a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to work in UNIX environment
- Demonstrated ability in using Next Generation Sequencing tools
- Good Understanding of Genomic Data Analysis and Biostatistics
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services for cloud computing
