**_PRIMARY PURPOSE_** **_- Briefly summarize the primary purpose of this position._
This role involves monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving technical issues, and ensuring uninterrupted network operations. The NOC technician will track network traffic, server status, and overall system health to proactively detect anomalies and prevent potential outages.
These positions play a critical role in incident response, swiftly addressing network disruptions, security breaches, and software malfunctions. They employ diagnostic tools and follow established procedures to troubleshoot and rectify problems, collaborating with other IT teams as needed. NOC technicians will also maintain documentation of incidents, solutions, and configurations, aiding in future issue resolution and system improvements.
In addition to real-time monitoring, NOC technicians will perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patches to optimize network performance and security. Their vigilant oversight will guarantee that an organization's digital infrastructure remains stable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

**Network Monitoring and Maintenance**:
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure optimal network functionality.
- Implement network changes and updates while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with network engineers to maintain network hardware, software, and configurations.
**Security Operations**:
- Monitor security events and alerts from various sources, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) platforms.
- Analyze and respond to security incidents, including identifying, containing, and mitigating security breaches or threats.
- Assist in maintaining and updating firewall rules, intrusion prevention systems, and other security technologies.
**Application Monitoring and Escalation**:
**Incident Response**:
- Participate in incident response procedures, investigating security breaches or incidents and documenting findings.
- Provide technical support during security incidents, coordinating efforts with IT and cybersecurity teams to remediate and prevent future incidents.
**Vulnerability Management**:
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
**Network and Security Documentation**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, security policies, and incident response procedures.
- Create and maintain network diagrams and topology documentation for quick reference.
**_DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY_** **_- Describe the types of major decisions this position is required to make, and the type of decisions that are referred to a higher level of authority. If appropriate, include quantitative data such as budget accountability, dollar value of projects, etc._
Works under general supervision with primary reporting to Network Operations Center Manager. Can resolve 95% of service requests without assistance from senior staff members. Works closely with other NOC member and escalates per the pre-defined escalations. Additional input may be needed from the Network Operations Manager on escalations, unusual, or issues/problems.

- 1-3 years experience working in a NOC/SOC team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science
- Strong customer relationship skills
- Ability to provide and maintain detailed documentation on each ticket
- Willingness to develop professionally.
- Knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security
- Experience in tools such as:
