**Job Title**: AC Technician**:
**Reports to**: Maintenance Manager/Engineering Supervisor

**Job Summary**:
The AC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems in the hotel. They ensure that all HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) equipment operates efficiently to provide a comfortable environment for guests and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Maintenance and Repair**:

- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to HVAC systems and promptly repair faults.
- Repair or replace defective parts, such as compressors, thermostats, fan motors, and electrical components.
- Conduct regular testing of system performance, including temperature controls and air quality.

**Installation**:

- Install new air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration units according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Ensure proper sizing, wiring, and ductwork for HVAC installations.
- Assist in relocating or upgrading existing systems as needed.

**Energy Efficiency**:

- Monitor and optimize the performance of HVAC systems to reduce energy consumption.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades or retrofits to improve energy efficiency.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all HVAC systems comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Properly handle refrigerants and dispose of them in accordance with local and international guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs for compliance audits.

**Guest Support**:

- Respond promptly to guest complaints regarding room temperature, ventilation, or air quality.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize guest disruptions during repairs or maintenance.

**General Duties**:

- Assist in maintaining other mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as required.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in HVAC maintenance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in good condition.
- Prepare detailed reports on repairs, inventory, and system performance for management.

**Qualifications**:
**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as an HVAC technician, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using tools such as vacuum pumps, pressure gauges, and hand tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

**Educational Background**:

- Diploma or certification in HVAC systems, refrigeration, or a related field.
- Relevant licenses or certifications for handling refrigerants (e.g., EPA certification).

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy tools and equipment.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
- Stamina to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, if required.

**Work Environment**:

- Indoors and outdoors, depending on the location of equipment.
- Exposure to loud noises, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
