**Position Title**: Shadow Teacher
**Reports to**: Principal
**Location**: Winmore Academy Jakkur

**Job Overview**:
A Shadow Teacher works closely with a student who has specific learning needs or requires additional support within the classroom environment. The primary role of the Shadow Teacher is to provide one-on-one assistance, helping the student engage with the curriculum, ensure their emotional and social development, and facilitate their full participation in class activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Individualized Support**:

- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), assisting them in achieving their academic goals.
- Help students with tasks such as reading, writing, and understanding instructions, in alignment with their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Ensure that the student is actively engaged in class activities and comfortable within the classroom setting.
- **Behavior Management**:

- Assist in managing the student’s behavior by implementing strategies recommended by the classroom teacher, school counselor, or special education team.
- Support the student in maintaining focus, discipline, and social interactions, both during lessons and break times.
- **Collaboration with Teachers**:

- Work alongside the classroom teacher to ensure the student’s needs are being met.
- Provide feedback to the teacher on the student’s progress, challenges, and any areas that require additional attention.
- **Encouragement and Motivation**:

- Foster an encouraging and supportive environment for the student to build self-esteem and confidence.
- Use positive reinforcement to motivate the student and celebrate their achievements, no matter how small.
- **Monitor Progress**:

- Track the student’s academic progress, emotional development, and behavioral growth.
- Keep accurate records and report on the student’s progress regularly to the educational team.
- **Adapt Learning Materials**:

- Modify and adapt classroom materials or tasks as needed to cater to the student’s individual learning needs.
- Assist with the implementation of any specialized teaching methods or tools.
- **Parent Communication**:

- Occasionally communicate with parents/guardians regarding the student’s progress and any concerns that arise.
- Attend meetings with parents or the student’s educational team as needed.
- **Safety and Well-being**:

- Ensure the student’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being while in the school environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of any sensitive information relating to the student.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in special education or related training is an advantage.
- **Experience**:

- Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
- Experience in a classroom or teaching assistant role is an advantage.
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability and problem-solving abilities.

**Working Conditions**:

- **Hours**: part-time (depending on the student’s needs).
- **Location**: Winmore Academy Jakkur.
- **Salary**: Rs 8000/- to Rs 12000/
- Job Type: Part-time

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 1 - 6 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
- Making lesson plans: 1 year (preferred)
