**Job description** for a scientist in agriculture with a focus on plant pathology and plant physiology:

- Conducting research on plant diseases and infections, including bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
- Collecting and evaluating plant samples with microscopy, digital photography and other technical and laboratory equipment.
- Maintaining laboratory samples and overseeing organizational processes for laboratory procedures.
- Developing methods of disease prevention and treatment for plant species in local environments.
- Collaborating with environmental researchers and specialists to develop strategies for reducing harmful effects of economic activities on plant ecology.
- Designing and conducting research projects in fields such as botany, ecology, genetics, microbiology, or soil science.
- Monitoring crop growth and yields to ensure that they meet industry standards.
- Conducting experiments to test new agricultural techniques or technology.
- Developing new products and practices that increase yields or reduce waste.
- Identifying solutions to problems in agricultural processes such as harvesting, storage, or marketing.

**Salary**: ₹42,768.84 - ₹70,411.05 per month
