Procurement / Supply Chain Executive

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Import Procurement & Vendor Management**:

- Source and procure materials, equipment, and components from international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Ensure timely order placement, shipment tracking, and supplier performance evaluation.
- **Customs & CHA Coordination**:

- Coordinate with **Custom House Agents (CHA)** for customs clearance and duty payment.
- Ensure timely filing of **Bill of Entry, Bill of Lading, and other shipping documents**.
- Resolve any customs-related issues, including HS code classification and duty structure.
- **Import Documentation & Compliance**:

- Verify all import-related documents such as **Proforma Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Analysis, Country of Origin Certificates, FSSAI/CDSCO approvals (if applicable), Duty Exemptions, and DGFT licenses**.
- Ensure compliance with **EXIM policies, GST, RBI, FEMA, BIS, and other regulatory requirements**.
- Coordinate with **banks for Letter of Credit (LC), Advance Payment, and TT payments**.
- **Logistics & Freight Handling**:

- Work with freight forwarders to arrange air/sea shipments and select cost-effective transport modes.
- Optimize **freight costs, lead times, and shipment consolidation** for cost reduction.
- Monitor shipment schedules, coordinate with clearing agents, and ensure on-time delivery.
- **Warehouse & Inventory Coordination**:

- Ensure proper handover of imported materials to warehouse teams post-clearance.
- Work closely with the inventory team to track stock levels and re-order points.
- Coordinate with internal departments for urgent stock requirements and replenishments.
- **Cost Optimization & Budgeting**:

- Analyze landed costs, import duties, and tax structures to minimize expenses.
- Suggest and implement cost-saving strategies for international procurement.
- **MIS & Reporting**:

- Maintain up-to-date records of all import transactions and generate reports on **shipment status, cost analysis, pending orders, and regulatory filings**.
- Provide periodic reports to management on import trends and supplier performance.

**Key Requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in **Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field**.
- **Experience**: 2-3 years in **import procurement, CHA coordination, and document verification**.
- **Industry Preference**: Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, FMCG, Engineering Goods, or any import-heavy industry.
- **Technical Knowledge**:

- Strong understanding of **Indian Customs, Import-Export (EXIM) policies, DGFT regulations, and Foreign Trade Policy**.
- Experience with **HS Code classification, customs duties, and Free Trade Agreements (FTA)**.
- Familiarity with **LCs (Letter of Credit), Bill of Entry, and Foreign Exchange transactions**.
- Knowledge of **SAP / ERP Systems** for procurement and inventory tracking.

**Skills Required**:

- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical skills for cost calculations and duty structures.
- Proficiency in **MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), Tally, or other import-tracking software**.
- Effective communication and coordination with suppliers, CHAs, and regulatory authorities.
- Problem-solving skills to handle customs-related challenges and shipment delays.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with **pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical imports** is an advantage.
- Knowledge of **special import licenses (Form 10, Form 11 for pharma), FSSAI/CDSCO approvals, and other sector-specific import regulations**.
- Ability to manage **multiple shipments across different geographies**.
