**Position Title**: Account Assistant

**Department**: Finance/Accounting

**Reports To**: Accounting Manager/Finance Director

**Location**: Silaj, Ahmedabad

**Salary**:

- 18k to 25k

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Accounts Payable & Receivable**:

- Assist in processing invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate with vendors and customers for payment resolution.
- **General Ledger Maintenance**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the general ledger system.
- Assist in posting financial transactions, journal entries, and adjustments to the ledger.
- Assist in preparing month-end and year-end closing entries.
- **Financial Reporting**:

- Help prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in preparing financial documentation for audits.
- Prepare reports as needed for senior management and other departments.
- **Payroll Assistance**:

- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring that all employee hours, deductions, and benefits are accurately calculated.
- Handle payroll inquiries and ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
- **Bank Reconciliation**:

- Perform regular reconciliation of bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Resolve discrepancies in accounts and escalate any issues when necessary.
- **Data Entry and Record Keeping**:

- Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain organized filing systems for all financial records.
- Keep records of transactions and other important financial documents in compliance with company policies.
- **Support for Tax Compliance**:

- Assist in preparing tax returns, VAT, and other regulatory filings.
- Ensure that financial records comply with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- **Administrative Support**:

- Provide administrative assistance to the accounting team, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and managing documentation.
- Assist in ad-hoc financial tasks and special projects as needed.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is preferred.
- **Skills**:

- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data entry and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

**Working Conditions**:

- This is a full-time office-based role.

**Compensation**:

- Competitive salary based on experience.
