Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Ward Nurse

Ǫualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Job Summary: The WARD Nurse is responsible for providing specialized, high-level care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves monitoring patients’ vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal care. The WARD Nurse must demonstrate advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:

- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed.

2. Documentation:

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including observations, treatments, and responses.

3. Collaboration:

- Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.

4. Patient and Family Support:

- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during critical times.

5. Infection Control and Safety:

- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment and prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Skills:

- Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Computer knowledge is compulsory.
- Ability to operate and interpret complex medical equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
