**Responsibilities**:
**Staff Signal Processing Architect**

**THE ROLE**:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Signal Processing Architect to join our growing team in the AI Group. In this role, the individual will be responsible for modeling algorithms related to signal processing and deep learning domain, mapping algorithms efficiently on AMD/Xilinx AI Engine block, estimating performance, defining micro-architecture based on the system modeling and driving the kernel and RTL implementation team for hardware implementation. This role expects the individual to drive the algorithmic requirements, performance requirements, function partitioning across different accelerator blocks, memory partitioning issues. The team is dynamic and fast paced offering each of its members tremendous personal opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills in complex problem solving, product development and system engineering.

**THE PERSON**:
As a Staff Architect, you will drive innovative, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your signal processing architecture expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform MATLAB and Python modeling of signal processing algorithms based on the marketing requirements.
- Perform model optimization and performance prediction.
- Map signal processing algorithms into AI Engine’s scalar and vector processor.
- Develop kernel libraries and verify functionality with reference MATLAB model.
- Performance simulation and optimization of kernels.
- Perform system level performance analysis, bandwidth requirement analysis and estimation of hardware resources.
- Solve challenging technical problems with complex SoC based systems that integrate robust algorithms and features.
- Work on systems including image processing pipelines, intelligent processing (machine learning) in the DSP processor systems, compressing/decompressing that require both a system specific, and an algorithmic knowledge base.
- Lead the discussion in the AI Engines Technical Solutions Team forum.
- Be involved in all aspects of integrated product development, including design, prototyping, implementation, testing, and product demonstration.
- Provide feedback on architecture, use cases, IP design, tools, and documentation.

**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE**:

- Proficiency in architecting signal processing algorithms
- FFT, FIR, channelizer, super sampling rate filter/FFT designs, 5G signal processing using hardware accelerators.
- Proficiency in developing digital signal processing algorithms and hardware circuit for efficient algorithms.
- Proficiency in ADAS sensor fusion algorithms, point cloud computation, point painting algorithms.
- Proficiency in modeling signal processing algorithms on MATLAB, SimuLink
- Excellent C/C++ coding skills
- Experience in developing Math functions using Python.
- Experience with VLIW SIMD vector processor architecture,
- Experience in processor performance and memory modeling
- Experience in creating system designs with compute engine, NOC and DDR/HBM
- Experience in graph programming model, graph optimization techniques will be a plus.
- Experience in kernel development using high level synthesis is a plus.
- Experience in TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras is a plus.
- Strong communication skills

**ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS**:

- BS with 10 years or MS with 8 years of exp
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience
