Job Title: Principal Architect – Payments

About the Role

Blue Spire Inc. is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Principal Architect – Payments with 13–20 years of experience in architecting and delivering enterprise-scale payment solutions. This role requires deep expertise across Fiserv Enterprise Payments Platform, ACI Universal Payments (UP) Framework, Swift Payments, and Message Translation Service (MTS), along with the ability to define strategy, influence stakeholders, and drive payment transformations across large organizations.

Key Responsibilities

- Enterprise Strategy & Architecture: Define and evolve the long-term payments architecture strategy aligned with business objectives, regulatory mandates, and technology transformation goals. Lead the design of scalable, secure, and resilient payment solutions leveraging Fiserv EPP, Swift, ACI UP, and MTS.
- Domain Leadership: Act as the payments domain authority and trusted advisor for clients, executives, and cross-functional teams. Provide thought leadership on global payment trends, ISO 20022 migration, real-time payments, and regulatory compliance.
- Integration & Transformation: Lead complex integration programs across core banking, third-party platforms, clearing houses, and regulatory ecosystems. Drive modernization initiatives including cloud-native payments, microservices, API-first architectures, and real-time processing.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish architectural governance frameworks and ensure adherence to PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other global regulatory standards. Provide executive-level oversight on risk, compliance, and system resilience.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor and guide solution architects, engineering leaders, and domain SMEs. Build and nurture internal capability and establish best practices for payment solutioning.
- Performance & Optimization: Oversee system performance, scalability, and high availability of enterprise payments platforms. Leverage monitoring, analytics, and data insights to optimize performance and customer experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Partner with CxOs, product owners, and senior stakeholders to shape product roadmaps and business strategies. Represent Blue Spire Inc. in industry forums and establish the company’s reputation as a leader in payments transformation.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related discipline.
- 18–20 years of progressive experience in payments technology, with expertise in Fiserv EPP, ACI UP Framework, Swift Payments, and MTS.
- Proven success as a Principal Architect / Distinguished Engineer / Domain Expert in enterprise-scale payments programs.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing, ISO 20022, SWIFT standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, microservices, and API ecosystems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe, or Agile leadership are preferred.
