Position: School Librarian
Location: Alpha School CIT Nagar, Saidapet
Reports to: PrincipalJob Summary: The School Librarian is responsible for managing the school library's resources, fostering a love of reading and learning among students, and supporting the curriculum through the provision of relevant materials. The Librarian will create a welcoming environment, guide students and staff in their research, and promote literacy across all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, digital resources, and other materials.
- Assist students and staff in locating and selecting appropriate resources.
- Promote reading and literacy through programs, events, and activities.
- Maintain the library catalog and manage circulation, including checkouts, returns, and inventory.
- Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum needs and integrate library resources into classroom instruction.
- Encourage students to develop information literacy skills.
- Ensure the library is a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space for all students.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in a school library setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for books, reading, and student engagement.

- Proficient in library management software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment.
