**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Edit news articles for accuracy, clarity, grammar, style, and tone.
- Oversee daily content flow, including assigning stories, managing deadlines, and coordinating with team
- Ensure adherence to journalistic ethics, legal guidelines, and editorial standards.
- Guide data operators in developing compelling angles, sourcing credible information, and improving their writing.
- Approve final versions of articles before publication.
- Support layout and headline writing for print editions.
- Coordinate with software development teams to optimise articles for online platforms.
- Conduct regular editorial meetings and contribute to long-term content planning.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in newspaper journalism, including at least 2 years in an editorial or supervisory role.
- Strong editing, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Familiarity with media law, fact-checking, and investigative journalism.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Passion for storytelling and public interest journalism.
